An Assisted Living Community is usually ideal for those seniors needing some help with one or several activities of daily living (ADL’s). Like most seniors looking for a more “Hassle-Free” life not dealing with home repairs, managing housekeeping, shopping and cooking or simply looking to downsize, these seniors are burdened with certain additional challenges. Perhaps they are frail, are dealing with illness or mild memory loss, which may require them to need help with activities such as housecleaning, meals, dressing, bathing, medication reminders or grooming. They may be forgetful and missing important appointments, not paying their bills, getting out and socializing.

Assisted Living communities offer the maintenance-free lifestyle where the necessities of daily living are met, but more importantly include the personal CARE for activities of daily living. This means the community will provide the senior the care needed to live comfortably with accommodations to participate in their community, where possible. The senior will receive personal care assistance including help with showering, dressing, personal hygiene and medication reminders in a comfortable and safe setting.
Assisted Living Units are generally air-conditioned, cable-ready and include utilities, housekeeping and linens with laundry service available.  Dining is usually restaurant style, with chef prepared meals allowing for choices, special diets and snacks. There is usually entertainment, educational courses, wellness classes, lecture series, discussion groups and exercise workout rooms and programs. Transportation is usually to local appointments and points of interest.

Some Assisted Living Communities are cost inclusive, so the cost includes the room and care services.  Other communities itemize the cost of care services separate from the room.  This means depending on the care needed will determine the cost.  Generally, Assisted Living can start from $2000.00 per month to over $10,000.00 per month depending on location, amenities and care required.
